PASSENGER PAVILION

In 1993, Keenan and Kenny Architects completed the new Hyannis Ferry Terminal for the Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket Steamship Authority. The total project cost was approximately $17 million and included new ferry slips and a complete restructuring of pedestrian and vehicle traffic patterns as well as new landscaping, lighting, and support structures. The terminal building itself, with a cost of $1.9 million, produced improved ferry passenger boat access, concession stand, a radiant slab heated waiting room, and public meeting space. As a compliment to the terminal building, Keenan and Kenny Architects was asked to design and construct a new passenger shelter for the Steamship Authority's Fast Ferry in 2010. The Pavilion uses many of the same architectural details found in the terminal
